СУСПІЛЬНО-ПОЛІТИЧНІ НАСТРОЇ ГРОМАДЯН США В КОНТЕКСТІ МІГРАЦІЙНОЇ КРИЗИ 2022 – 2024 РОКІВ

Анотація. Стаття присвячена ставленню громадян США до переселенців у країну в умовах міграційної кризи 2022–2024 років. Дослідження суспільно-політичних поглядів американців дозволяє поглибити розуміння гострого протистояння між республіканцями та демократами у Конгресі США, в яке увійшла країна наприкінці 2023 р. – початку  2024 р. У статті зроблена спроба прояснити, як змінилися настрої громадян після сплеску нелегальної імміграції і виявити причини таких змін у суспільному сприйнятті. Мета дослідження – визначення ставлення американських громадян до імміграції в США, встановлення причин їхніх занепокоєнь та змін настроїв в умовах міграційної кризи 2022–2024 років.

Наукова новизна дослідження полягає у запровадженні в науковий обіг та аналізі нових джерел з історії американської міграційної кризи 2022–2024 років. На основі емпіричних даних доведено, що саме сплеск нелегальної імміграції, а не міграції загалом, призвів до драматичних змін настроїв суспільства у ставленні до мігрантів і, як наслідок, до політичної кризи в країні.

Методологічною основою статті є принцип історизму, поширений у сучасній практиці історичних досліджень. Для реалізації мети роботи, було застосовано позитивістський підхід, згідно з яким дослідження необхідно будувати на емпіричних даних, отриманих з джерел. У процесі аналізу матеріалів джерел застосовувався компаративний метод, який дозволив ретельно зафіксувати ступінь змін у суспільних настроях впродовж певного періоду часу.

Висновки. Міграційна криза 2022–2024 років, з якою зіткнулися США, стала найбільшим гуманітарним викликом країни за останні десятиліття. Вона призвела до загострення внутрішньополітичної боротьби через масове невдоволення громадян напливом нелегальних мігрантів. Це невдоволення чітко відображається у статистичних даних від урядових органів влади та соціологічних опитуваннях таких найбільших дослідницьких центрів США як «Pew Research Center» та центр «Gallup». Найвищий з моменту теракту 11 вересня 2001 року відсоток громадян, які хотіли б зменшити рівень міграції в країну, є яскравим підтвердженням кризи, яка охопила країну.
